As you take on the presidency of the World PCO Alliance, what does “connecting East and West” mean to you, not just geographically, but in how we learn from and elevate one another?
I would like to encourage members from east and west as well as down under to continue sharing best practices, customer service insights and keep each other abreast of developments and evolvements of the industry. Distance is never a hindrance as we are all experts in communication and time management and share dedicated commitment to elevate our industry.
Asia’s meetings landscape is often described as vibrant and fast-evolving. From your perspective, where do you see the greatest opportunities for collaboration between Asian and Western associations?
Asia’s meetings landscape presents strong opportunities for collaboration with Western associations through knowledge sharing, innovation, and joint events. Western expertise in governance and sustainability complements Asia’s agility and regional insight. Together, they can co-create inclusive, future-ready meeting models, strengthen global networks, and foster lasting partnerships built on trust, mutual learning, and shared growth.
Where do you see the biggest gaps in understanding between East and West when it comes to designing or delivering impactful meetings, and how can we close them?
The biggest gaps lie in differing expectations—Western models emphasize structure, metrics, and efficiency, while Eastern approaches value relationships, flexibility, and cultural nuance. Bridging these requires empathy, open dialogue, and co-creation. By blending data-driven planning with cultural sensitivity, both sides can design meetings that inspire connection, inclusivity, and truly global impact.
The World PCO Alliance sits at a crossroads of regions and cultures. How can it become a true platform for exchange — one that not only drives business but also embodies values like ESG, DEI, and long-term community impact?
The World PCO Alliance is uniquely positioned to unite diverse regions, perspectives, and expertise into a powerful force for purposeful collaboration. To become a true platform for exchange, it must go beyond business generation to actively champion ESG and DEI principles in every project, event, and partnership. By promoting sustainability, inclusivity, and ethical leadership, the Alliance can set new benchmarks for responsible global meetings. Through shared learning, transparent practices, and community engagement, it can inspire members to deliver not only economic value but also lasting social and environmental impact—strengthening the industry’s collective commitment to a more equitable future.
As you look ahead, how do you hope to see the Alliance evolve under your leadership — both internally among members and externally with global partners?
I envision the Alliance evolving into a more connected, collaborative, and purpose-driven community. Internally, I hope to strengthen member engagement through shared learning, innovation, and mentorship. Externally, I aim to deepen partnerships with global stakeholders, amplifying our collective voice on sustainability, inclusivity, and professionalism—positioning the Alliance as a trusted leader shaping the future of international meetings and events.
